Alzheimer Association Local Offices
The Alzheimer's Association is dedicated to research and providing support to individuals with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. The following local centers can help you by providing Early Stage Memory Loss Programs, Support Groups, Telephone Helplines, Respite Care Programs, Safe Return Programs (register your loved one with Alzheimer's in case they wander off), and educational programs.
Baltimore Commission on Aging and Retirement Education (C.A.R.E.)
The Commission on Aging and Retirement Education (CARE) was created as an advocate for older Baltimoreans by developing and coordinating activities for seniors and establishing a retirement education program.

Maryland Department of Aging
The Department of Aging oversees the delivery of programs, services and benefits through Maryland's network of Local Area Agencies on Aging. The Area Agencies either provide services directly to older persons or contract with other public or private agencies to administer programs. Services include information, assistance, transportation, legal services, health care, Medicare and Health insurance, in-home assistance, assistance for caregivers of elderly individuals and grandparents of children age 18 and under, housing, assisted living, and Medicaid Waiver.

National Resources
AARP
A nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization for people 50 and over. AARP provides information and resources; advocates on legislative, consumer, and legal issues; assists members to serve their communities; and offers a wide range of unique benefits, special products, and services for members.
The Administration on Aging
Provides the National Aging Information Center, which helps to locate national resources on aging. Information for caregivers is also included on their web page at www.aoa.gov.

This is a nationwide directory assistance service for older persons and caregivers to help them find local support resources for aging Americans.
FirstGov for Seniors
The FirstGov for Seniors Internet services will give older Americans the option of conducting their government business electronically, along with the ability to transact business with a wide range of government agencies and programs. Using a one-stop shopping approach, seniors will have access to agencies at the Federal, State and local levels. They will also be able to search for programs that meet their needs, without having to know which agency, at which level, can deliver the services they seek.

National Council on the Aging (NCOA)
NCOA works to promote the dignity, self-determination and well-being of older persons through a wide variety of services and programs. NCOA primarily works with community organizations and professionals to help them enhance the lives of older persons.
The National Institute on Aging
Located in Bethesda, Maryland, the National Institute on Aging mission is to lead a broad scientific effort to understand Aging. This site provides health information, research program information as well as news and events.
National Senior Citizens Law Center (NSCLC)
The National Senior Citizens Law Center has helped older individuals to live in dignity and freedom from poverty. NSCLC staff works with legal services offices and senior organizations throughout the U.S. to provide quality advice and service. NSCLC staff attorneys serve as counsel in litigation, provide expert analysis on federal policy, train advocates to better represent their clients and educate through our publications.
